![]() As if COVID, etc. wasn't enough! Normally at this time we would all be skirting fleeces and preparing animals and products for the Oregon Flock and Fiber Festival in Canby. However, as most other events for 2020, this gathering isn't happening. A few of our members did participate in the Crook County Fair in August, which was participants only, and it looked like those who were there had a good time! We decided to postpone the monthly Zoom meeting to October 11, 2020, 2 pm. Members will receive an invite via email. One thing to consider before that time is being prepared for any opportunities to share a fiber presentation for school or community groups. There is a basic presentation in place which can be tweaked or added to depending on your area of interest or experience, and you don't have to be an "up front" kind of person to do this (I am certainly not, but end up enjoying sharing the love of fiber with young people, as well as any adults who happen to be with them!). As a last thought, let's those of us who have not had losses due to the fires find ways to share with those who have lost much. I personally know someone who lost home and possessions, and probably some of you do as well. The generosity of many people is already showing up via donations and offers of housing, keeping animals, etc. Lynne for HDWG
