By now we all have our winter routines in place here in central Oregon, after a mild fall, and no snow to speak of until the day after Christmas! Draining hoses, stock tank heaters, extension cords, heat lamps, extra feed on the snow-covered pastures, etc.
Our main announcement is that we can now take payment of annual membership dues online at our website store! Members have received an email with this info. Returning members need not fill out membership applications unless you need to update any information.
New members, begin in the store and add the appropriate membership to your cart. After checkout, you will receive a confirmation email that includes your order confirmation number, and you can then fill out the New Membership Online Form found on the website menu (www.highdesertwoolgrowers.com), and be sure to click "submit" at the end. OR if you prefer look under Forms for the printable version and you may still mail your check to us if you prefer.
Regarding Fiber Market Day, we are scheduled for setup the afternoon of May 20, with the event beginning 9:00 a.m. Saturday morning, May 21. We did look into having the sale open on Friday evening; however, this would be a significant increase in the building rental fee, and as we are coming back from last year's reduced numbers due to COViD will reconsider that for 2023 if we have a strong Market Day this spring. The vendor applications will be ready on our website by February 1, 2022, as well as emailed out to previous vendors, and there will be the option for online payment of the vendor fees in the same manner as the membership dues are available now. Also, there will be a separate application for indoor versus outdoor vendors. So save the date, and we hope to have a strong, fun gathering this spring!
Our first monthly meeting will be via Zoom this coming Sunday afternoon at 2:00 pm; members watch your email for the meeting invite.
Wishing you all a much improved 2022!
