Our 26th annual event, sharing the love of natural fibers and all of their artistic and practical uses! Sales and demonstrations from fiber animal producers, spinners, weavers, felters, rug makers, etc. Raffles, Jill Pot (spinner’s choice of fleece judged contest…see new format below), and more. Family friendly event! Spinning circle open to all, or bring your knitting, hand carding, etc.

JILL POT FIBER CONTEST UPDATE: We have revamped our traditional fleece contest, the Jill Pot, for Fiber Market Day coming up on the 27th, as we have all indoor vendors this year! Previously, this was a contest where the animal had to be present, and an experienced spinner would choose which fleece she/he would like to spin. However, now this contest is open to all HDWG members and FMD vendors, and the animal does NOT need to be present.

Guidelines: You may enter one fleece from an animal from your farm, raised by yourself, which has been sheared within this past year. Entry fee is $5. It must be skirted and entered in a clean, clear plastic bag. Please enter during setup times, preferably Friday afternoon between 2:00-6:00 pm, or by 8:00 am Saturday morning; there will be tables set up just inside the large east side doors, fill out an entry form and pay (we'll keep watch for entry arrivals as several of us will be in that area). Judge: Donna Wilson. Prizes: 1st place $30, 2nd place $20, 3rd place $10.
